Church Council   Outreach   Resources   SPPRC   Trustees


Church Council is responsible for the overall coordination, encouragement and growth of the individual ministry committees that make up church government.  While the ministry committees are all responsible and empowered to act on their own in the best interests of the church, the Church Council provides a small degree of oversight to these essential groups.

The Church Council meets the 3rd Saturday of each month and as needed.

The Outreach committee is dedicated to putting Christian faith into action by providing a range of charitable activities at the local, state, country and world levels.  The church is active in the 285 Corridor and is in partnership with other churches in the area.  Our activities include the Interfaith Food Pantry, Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, Share the Care, SERRV, prayer shawls, etc.

Resources Ministry is an amalgamation of finances, financial management, trustees and physical/building management.


Resource Ministry meets 2nd Sunday of the month as necessary

Mission: To provide support and feedback to the pastor and staff members of Deer Park UMC and to foster effective communication between the congregation, the pastor and staff.


Objectives:

  • To support positive relations between the pastor, staff and congregation
  • To develop written job descriptions for all staff members
  • To provide staff and pastor with annual evaluations
  • To recruit and hire replacement staff as needed

SPPRC Meets at least 4 times per year.
